Pat Bond at Kent

Did you see "Word Is Out" on PBS? If so, you will remember the husky, witty, hard-hitting, ex-WAC comedienne who was so vital to that film. Her name is Pat Bond, and she will be the keynote speaker/performer at the Kent Gay/Lesbian Foundation (KGLF) Spring Conference.

The conference will be held in the Kent State Student Center, Kent, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9. Registration begins at 5:30 pm on April 8th.

The theme for the conference is: "Gay and Okay: Positive Approaches to Swimming Upstream".

There is no charge for registration. For more information, contact Fred or Pat at 216/672-2068. Or write to KGLF, Box 17, Kent Student Center, Kent, Ohio 44242.

Thank you Cleveland for a hot time. Being from out of state my expectations were not very good of a city with a "dead lake". But, my misconceptions were just those. I found the city to have some of the most friendly people I've met and a beautiful lake to boot! I am a college boy travelling the midwest while on my spring break. As I write this on the Amtrack to Chicago, I am missing y'alls' charm and personality.

I had a wonderful time Monday evening as the piano-rag was delightfull at Keys, and Exedra blew me away last Tuesday as I couldn't get over how friendly everybody was. Which also goes for the men at A Man's World and the Leather Stallion. My last night in town, Wednesday, was a hi-lite in its own right. The Tomahawk was fun...two bowling games for two bits! and great German food at Keefer's. To top it all off my photo session with ACTION MAGAZINE was quite a surprise. Thank you. I've been told that "unfortunately" I didn't "do" Cleveland on a weekend and so I should return soon I hope so!!

Believe it or not the closest thing to Cleveland's friendliness and benevolence is Ft. Worth, Texas, about an hour south of my home. Thank you for making me feel a little like home. Again thank you to Tom, Dan, ACTION MAGAZINE and the Gay People of Cleveland.
